Terms of Service (draft)

  1. The service. unfurlr gives you an API that returns public metadata for the URLs you send it. It's provided "as is", with no uptime or accuracy guarantee during this early period.
  2. Accounts and keys. One free key per person or email. Keep your key secret, because you're responsible for anything done with it. We may revoke keys that are abused.
  3. Free plan. 500 requests per calendar month (UTC), with commercial use allowed. Failed fetches don't count. Per-minute rate limits apply. Paid plans aren't available yet.
  4. Acceptable use. Don't use unfurlr to attack, overload, or get around access controls on any site. Don't use it to fetch content you have no right to access, to send spam, or to break the law. Don't try to reach private networks, and don't try to get around rate limits or quotas, for example by creating many keys.
  5. Content. Metadata belongs to the sites it comes from. You're responsible for how you display or use it.
  6. Changes and termination. We may change these terms or the service, and may suspend access for any violation. You can stop using the service at any time.
  7. Liability. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages. Total liability is limited to the amount you paid us, which on the free plan is $0.
  8. Contact. smaran+unfurlr@mail.grokbot.com (operator and legal entity TBD).
